Frequently asked questions

MeDay is empty after I install it

Connect your data sources in Settings — Health, Location, Reminders, and Music. Just tap to allow each one. Once they're connected, MeDay fills in your past days too, and you'll see this month's calendar fill up.

Why is weather only shown for recent days?

Weather comes from Apple's WeatherKit, and its daily forecast only goes 10 days ahead. So the last few days of the month stay empty at first and fill in as those days get closer. Past weather is filled in starting from January of the year before the year you installed the app.

How do I connect WeRead?

MeDay uses the official WeRead API Key to read your reading time, the books you're reading, and your highlights and notes. The API Key starts with wrk-. You can get it on your phone or your computer:

  1. On your phone: Open the WeRead app, go to Settings, find API Key, and copy it.
  2. On your computer: In a browser, go to weread.qq.com/r/weread-skills, click the WeRead sign-in button, scan the code with WeChat to sign in, then copy the API Key shown on the page.
  3. Open MeDay, go to Settings › Data Sources › WeRead, paste the API Key, and tap Connect WeRead.

Your API Key is stored in this device's Keychain. It isn't uploaded or synced with iCloud. To disconnect, tap Disconnect on the same page. If your API Key has been exposed, you can reset it on the web page above.

Only some of my music is showing

Apple doesn't offer a way to get day-by-day listening history — each song in your library only has a "last played" date. So MeDay can only record what it sees each time you open it, and music you listened to before installing the app can't be recovered. After you install it, your history builds up day by day.

Where is my data?

On your device. MeDay has no servers and no accounts. When iCloud sync is on, your entries are stored in your own private iCloud database, and the developer can't see them there either. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Will I lose data if I switch devices?

If iCloud sync is on, your entries and photos come back automatically. Data from other apps and services — like health, weather, and reading — fills back in after you grant permission again on the new device. This can take a little while.

My MeDay Pro purchase isn't working, or I switched devices

Go to Settings › MeDay Pro and tap Restore Purchases. MeDay Pro is a one-time purchase that never expires. To request a refund, use Apple's request page.

MeDay crashed. How do I report it?

After a crash, quit MeDay completely and open it again, then wait a few seconds for iOS to hand back the diagnostic report. Next, open Settings, scroll to the bottom, and tap the version number. Choose Export, and send the file to [email protected].

The file contains only technical information like the call stack, your device model, and the iOS version. It doesn't include any of your entries. If you don't export it, it stays on your device where no one else can see it.

How do I delete all my data?

Deleting the app deletes everything it stored on your device. If you've used iCloud sync, you can also choose Reset iCloud Data in the app, or delete MeDay's data in iCloud settings on your iPhone.
